NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Members of the Webster University men's and women's track and field team were back in action over the weekend when they traveled to Naperville, Illinois, to compete in the Carius-Gregory Invitational at North Central (Ill.) College. There were not any team results.
Isabelle Llewellyn was the lone competitor for the women's team as she competed in three events. She took 10
th place in the discus throw with a distance of 30.93 meters. She finished 11
th in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.40 meters. Lastly, she placed fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 30.57 meters.
The men's side had eight competitors in the meet including
Austin Merritt and
Steven Aubuchon who both competed in the 100-meter dash. Merritt took second in the race with a time of 11.06 seconds while Aubuchon took third with a time of 11.19 seconds. Merritt also competed in the 200-meter race where he finished in fourth place with a time of 22.51 seconds.
Joshua Clark,
Nic Richardson, and
Dylan Patterson all competed in the 400-meter run for the Gorloks. Clark took fifth with a time of 51.30 seconds, Richardson took seventh with a time of 51.90 seconds, and Patterson placed 12
th with a time of 52.56 seconds.
Sam Baker,
Mark Govero, and
Kaiden Klein rounded out the competitors for the Gorloks. Baker took fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles after finishing with a time of 58.45 seconds. Govero took seventh place in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.49 meters. Klein rounded out the competitors for the Gorloks with a second-place finish in the javelin throw after recording a distance of 44.65 meters.
The Gorloks will return to the track for their final meet on Thursday, May 16th when they travel to Rock Island, Illinois, to compete in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Invitational. The meet will take place at Augustana (Ill.) University
