Chartrand Named Most Valuable Player of Gorlok Classic; Nelson and Reed Selected To All-Tournament Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Webster University men's basketball team concluded their annual Gorlok Classic this past Saturday and earned two victories over Wright State University-Lake Campus and Harris-Stowe State University. Following the conclusion of all games, Ethan Chartrand was named the Most Valuable Player and to the All-Tournament Team where he averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. In addition, Charles Nelson and Sebastian Reed were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

In the decision against WSU-Lake Campus, Chartrand recorded a career-high 30 points while shooting 13-of-14 from the field. In addition, he secured six rebounds, dished out four assists, and had one steal.

Reed, a junior from Atlanta, recorded a season-high 24 points while shooting 10-of-13 from the field. In addition, he had two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.  

Nelson finished third on the team against the Lakers as he contributed 13 points on 3-of-5 from behind the arc. In addition, he recorded a career-high eight assists, grabbed three rebounds, and had one steal. 

In the Gorlok Classic finale against Harris-Stowe, Nelson surpassed the 1,000 career milestone with a team-high 15 points that included a three-pointer. In addition, he dished out four assists and added one steal. 

Reed finished second on the team in scoring as he recorded 14 points while shooting 7-of-11 from the field and had two steals. 

Chartrand recorded 13 points while shooting 6-of-11 from the field. In addition, he grabbed five rebounds, had two steals, and one assist. 

The Gorloks will play their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, December 30 with a visit to Illinois College starting at 7:00PM in Jacksonville, Illinois.
