Gorloks Alum Darin Hoggatt Selected to SLIAC Hall of Fame Class of 2025

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Every year, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and the Hall of Fame Committee review nominations of great student-athletes that to be considered in the SLIAC Hall of Fame. This year, Webster men's basketball alum Darin Hoggatt was selected to join the ranks in the SLIAC Hall of Fame for the Class of 2025.  All five honorees will be officially inducted at the SLIAC Awards Banquet on May 21st.

"Being inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame is an incredible honor and I'm proud to be considered in the same class as all the other great players who played in the SLIAC. I was also very fortunate to play under Coach Bunch who continues to keep the Websters Men's Basketball program as one of the top teams each year. This recognition wouldn't be possible without the success we had as a team which is attributed to all the coaches and great players I played with during my time at Webster. Any individual success I had is a reflection of the hard work we put in as a team" said Hoggatt.

Hoggatt, a four-year letter winner on the men's basketball team from the seasons of 2004-08, was a three-time SLIAC champion, three-time All-Conference selection (two first's and one second) and led the 2007-08 team to an undefeated 16-0 conference record. In addition, he was a member of that team that achieved the first ever 20 win season in program history. At the end of the 2006-07 sesason, Hoggart led the SLIAC with 18.9 points per game.

The versatile center from Fordland, Missouri ranks inside the top-10 in a plethora of statistical categories which includes first in free throw attempts, first in free throws made, second in field goal percentage, fifth in points, and seventh in free throw percentage on Webster's all-time career lists.

For the past 15 years, Hoggatt currently remains as the WU's all-time leader in free-throws attempts with 450 and made free throws with 327. In addition, he ranks second all-time in Webster's men's basketball history books with a career field goal percentage of 53.2 percent. Hoggatt claims the fifth overall ranking in WU's history books with 1,275 career points where he averaged a career-high 18.9 points game his junior season. The final top-10 he owns is the seventh all-time spot with a career free throw percentage of 72.7 percent. Lastly, he recorded 66 steals and 67 assists in a Gorlok uniform.

"Darin was one of the best players to ever play in this program.  He was an integral part of three teams that won the regular season conference championship, including the 2007-08 team that went 16-0 in the regular season in conference and won 20 games overall for the first time in school history.  He was an amazing scorer in the post and was the cornerstone of our offense.  More importantly though, he was a great teammate and person and was one of the easiest guys to coach I've ever encountered.  This honor is long overdue and couldn't be going to a more deserving individual" said Head Coach Chris Bunch.

Hoggatt graduated with a BS in Finance from Webster in 2008 and earned a MS in Finance in 2010 while assisting with Webster's Men's Basketball team. He currently works for Wells Fargo as an Executive Director of WIM Model Governance. Hoggatt is married to Lauren Hoggatt and they have three children Miles, Elizabeth and Vivienne.

The Webster University Athletics Department congratulates Darin Hoggatt on this incredible honor to the SLIAC Hall of Fame.
