WU’s Claude-Ennin Sets New Shot Put School Record; 13 Gorloks Achieve New Personal Records At Greenville Select Meet

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Webster University men's track and field team continued the outdoor season by competing in the Greenville Select meet on Saturday. WU's Jahrel Claude-Ennin shattered his own Webster school record in the shot put with a mark of 12.82m (42-0.75). 13 Gorloks set a new personal record in at least one event at this meet. 

In the discus event, Claude-Ennin set a new personal record with a mark of 30.67m (100-8) which was on his first attempt. In the hammer throw event, Claude-Ennin recorded a mark of 31.65m (103'10") which was on his third attempt. 

In the pole vault event, Mark Govero secured sixth place with a clearance of 4.60m (15-1.00) which was on his second attempt. WU's Elijah Bohler rounded out the field for Webster with a clearance of 3.85m (12-7.50) which secured 10th overall. 

In the 100m dash event, six Gorloks competed in the event led by Austin Merritt with a time of 10.99 seconds that placed seventh overall. Senior Steven Aubuchon finished second out of the group with a time of 11.17 seconds. First-year Lucas LaRue recorded a time of 11.54 seconds while his classmate Robin Wong recorded a time of 11.70 seconds. Fellow first-years Nkunim Kauame and Kossa Othniel rounded out the field for Webster with times of 12.14 seconds and 12.30 seconds respectively. 

In the 110m hurdles, fifth-year Armond Williams was the lone Webster competitor in the event and secured sixth place with a time of 17.04 seconds. 

In the 200m, five Gorloks competed in the event which was led by Merritt with a time of 22.39 seconds that placed seventh overall. WU's Dylan Patterson was the next Gorlok that crossed the finish line as he recorded a time of 22.43 seconds that earned 10th overall. Aubuchon recorded a time of 23.41 seconds while Nic Richardson recorded a time of 24.39 seconds. Othniel achieved a new personal record with a time of 25.97 seconds. 

In the 400m dash, Richardson led the group of Gorloks with a time of 51.26 seconds that placed 16th overall while Patterson placed 19th overall with a time of 52.05 seconds. Mason Oldani rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 55.20 seconds. 

In the 400m hurdles, LaRue secured a new personal record with a time of 1:00.11 which earned fifth overall. In the 400m dash, three Gorloks competed in the event led by Richardson as he achieved a new personal record with a time of 51.26 seconds. WU's Patterson also secured a new personal record with a time of 52.05 seconds. Sophomore Oldani rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 55.20 seconds.

In the 800m dash event, William Howells recorded a new personal record with a time of 1:59.50. Sophomore Johnny Imboden rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 2:10.30.

In the 1500m event, Howells led the Gorloks with a new personal record time of 4:11.04 that placed eighth overall. WU's Imboden also secured a new personal record in the event with a time of 4:28.12. 

In the 3000m steeplechase, four Gorloks competed in this event which was led by Ethan Nieroda with a time of 10:41.59 that placed fifth overall. WU's Jacob Hawkins and Kenneth Louvierre ran under 12 minutes with times of 11:35.09 and 11:52.15 respectively. First-year Noah Smith rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 12:15.27.

In the 5000m run, first-year Daniel McClellan was the lone Webster competitor in the event and achieved a new personal record with a time of 16:59.65.

In the high jump event, Thomas Ogata secured a new personal record with a clearance of 1.73m (5-8.00). Oldani rounded out the field for Webster with a clearance of 1.68m (5-6.00).

In the triple jump event, Robin Wong earned a fourth place finish with a mark of 12.85m (42-2.00) which was on his second attempt. Ogata rounded out the field for Webster with a mark of 12.37m (40-7.00) that placed 10th overall. 

In the long jump event, Wong was the lone Webster competitor in the event as he tied his personal record with a mark of 6.43m (21'1.25") on his final attempt that placed seventh overall. 

The Gorloks will compete in their fourth outdoor meet of the season on Thursday, April 17 at Indiana State University.
