ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the names of the student-athletes who were selected to an All-Conference team for the sport of baseball. The Gorloks secured a league-high 11 All-Conference selections that included five First Team, one Second Team, and four Third Team All-Conference selections while
Cullen McBride was selected to the All-Sportmanship Team.Â
The five First Team All-Conferences selections included four seniors; Evan Evola, Carter Hunt, R.J. LaRocco, and Karl Peters. The 2025 SLIAC Pitcher of the Year Ryan Greifelt earned his first career All-Conference honor with a First Team All-Conference selection.Â
Evola, a senior infielder from Ottawa, Illinois capped off his magnificent four-year conference career with his fourth consecutive All-Conference honor and his third First Team selection. This season, the power-hitting first baseman started all 18 conference games and recorded a batting average of .435 which led the team and finished fourth in the league. In addition, he finished first on the team with an OPS of 1.291 and third in the conference. The left-handed slugger led the team with 30 hits, 29 RBI's, and six home runs.Â
Greifelt, a sophomore pitcher from Chicago, Illinois had a phenomenal season that included an undefeated 6-0 record while posting a 1.54 ERA that finished second in the league. In addition, he led the team with 41 innings pitched, 46 strikeouts, and a batting average against of .167. He recorded a .88 against batting average with runners in scoring position and pitched a complete game against Spalding University.  Â
Hunt, a senior starting pitcher from San Diego,California capped off his fourth conference season in the Navy and Gold with a First Team All-Conference selection for his second All-Conference honor of his career. The right-hander had a sensational season on the mound as he recorded a perfect 6-0 record while posting a 1.57 ERA that finished third in the conference. In addition, he finished second on the team with 34.1 innings pitched and 34 strikeouts. He recorded a batting average against of .177 and a WHIP of .97 on just 22 hits allowed.Â
LaRocco, a fifth-year senior outfielder from San Diego, California capped his sensational five-year conference career with his first career First Team All-Conference selection and secured his fourth All-Conference honor. LaRocco started all 18 games in left field and recorded a batting average of .313 that included an OPS of 1.020 and slugging percentage of .563. The cleanup hitter recorded 20 hits and led the team with nine doubles which ranks tied for second in the league. In addition, he drove in 11 RBI's and went 8-for-10 in stolen bases.
The final First Team All-Conference selection was Peters. Peters started all 18 conference games at shortstop and recorded a batting average of .370 that finished second on the team. In addition, he constructed an OPS of 1.128 that finished second on the team and slugged for .699. The senior from Littleton, Colorado also finished second on the team with 27 hits, 15 RBI's, and four homeruns. Lastly, he recorded a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases that finished fifth in the conference. Â
The Gorloks earned a Second Team All-Conference selection in closer Joel Arsenault. Arsenault capped off his historic four-year conference career with his second All-Conference honor. The current Webster University all-time single-season saves record holder in Arsenault appeared in eight games and led the team and league with five saves. The current NCAA Division III saves leader (11) posted a .71 ERA in 12.2 innings pitched. In those 12.2 innings, he recorded 21 strikeouts, a batting average against of .095, and allowed only four hits.
The four Third Team All-Conference selections included senior Ben Stedman, junior Elijah Rompala-Matthews, sophomore James Theodore, and first-year Ryan Hartz.Â
Stedman, a third baseman from Millstadt, Illinois secured his first All-Conference selection of his two-year Gorlok career as he started all 18 conference games at the hot corner. He recorded a batting average of .368 that included an OPS of .913 and a slugging percentage of .456. In addition, he recorded 21 hits, 13 RBI's, and was 5-of-6 in stolen bases.Â
Rompala-Matthews, a pitcher from Chicago, Illinois appeared in four games and earned two starts. The six foot, six inch right-hander recorded 16.1 innings pitched and posted an 1.65 ERA for a 2-0 record. In those 16.1 innings pitched, he fanned 18 batters and recorded a batting average against of .182. Â
Theodore, a outfielder from San Marcos, California secured his second consecutive All-Conference selection with a Third Team All-Conference honor. Theodore started all 18 games in center field and recorded a batting average of .297, an OPS of .811, and slugged for .446. In those 18 games, he tallied 22 hits, 13 RBI's, and on base percentage of .365. Lastly, he led the team with 12 stolen bases which finished fourth in the conference.
Hartz, a first-year student-athlete from Chicago, Illinois got his Gorlok career off to a great start with a Third Team All-Conference selection that included 17 starts in right field. In 18 conference games, Hartz recorded a batting average of .322, an OPS of .827, and slugged for .441. In addition, he recorded 19 hits, 12 RBI's, and two home runs. Lastly, he swiped eight bases on nine attempts that finished in a tie for third on the team.   Â
Every year, the SLIAC conference includes one individual from each school for the All-Sportsmanship Team. In order to be on the All-Sportsmanship team, coaches and fellow teammates vote for one student-athlete on the team who best displays the ideals of sportsmanship that include fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect, and responsibility. WU's graduate student McBride was named to the 2025 All-Sportsmanship team from Webster University. Â
This season, McBride was a two-way player that appeared in 17 games that included 13 starts mainly at designated hitter. In those 17 games, McBride recorded an OPS of .829 and slugged for .465. In addition, he recorded nine hits, nine RBI's, and two home runs. On the mound, McBride appeared in seven games for a 1-0 record. In those saves games, he pitched 10 innings, recorded a 1.80 ERA, and a batting average against of .211. Lastly, he recorded nine strikeouts and a .80 WHIP on just eight hits.Â
