Men’s Soccer Picked Fourth In 2025 SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released their 2025 preseason poll for the sport of men's soccer. The Gorloks were picked to finish fourth in the conference with 44 points.

The Gorloks enter the 2025 season coming off a 9-5-4 overall record that included a 4-1-4 conference record. This season, the team returns 11 student-athletes from last year's squad that includes two All-Conference selections in Luke Dillon and Scott Price. Dillon, a Second Team All-Conference goalkeeper from last season returns for his senior season as he finished tied for first in the league with five shutout victories and second with a .764 save percentage. Price, an international student-athlete from Wales returns for his sophomore campaign and is the leading returning goal scorer from last season where he scored 10 goals which finished second in the league. In addition, Price is coming off a fantastic freshman season where he was named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and was a Second Team All-Conference selection.

Other key notable returners include defenders Danny Nusinovic and Luke Walsh, midfielder Ian Meyer, and forwards Hayden Hatley and Elmin Lemes. Nusinovic and Walsh look to use their experience and leadership to be the anchors in the back this season. Meyer, who returns for his senior season, looks to be the facilitator in the middle this season. The Gorloks return their front line attack with forwards in Hatley and Lemes as both student-athletes combined for 10 goals on 53 shots.

Head Coach Nenad Curic and his staff are excited to welcome 21 new members to the program that includes five transfers which includes Charlie Leahy (Goalkeeper / St. Louis Community College), Enzo Proni (Forward / St. Charles Community College), Immanuel Nwosu (Parkland Community College), Guilherme Corte (North Carolina Wesleyan University), and Alberto Duque Gonzalez (Oklahoma Panhandle State University).

Other new additions include Niklas Storck, Adam Abdulkhalit, Charlie Noakes, Blake Cain, Henrique Cardoso, Marcos Gonzales-Collado, Samuel Van Der Klift, Elias Ibanez-Silva, Jorgen Koren, Juan Ignacio Martins Ferreira, Max Hodgson, Erik Fenes, Luke Dennis, Jakub Samelko, and Vladimir Sennikov.

The Gorloks will open the 2025 season with nine non-conference games with the season opener on the road at Dominican University on August 30. Following that game, the team will have a three-game homestand with contests against Southwestern Illinois College, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Elmhurst University. The team will continue their non-conference schedule on September 13 with a road trip to Illinois College and will then host Harris-Stowe State University on September 17 for Senior Day.

The Gorloks will continue their non-conference portion of their schedule in the final full week of September with two local games; the first against St. Louis Community College and the second against Washington University of St. Louis.

For the entire month of October, Webster will play in eight conference games and host the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis for the final home game of the season on October 24. The Gorloks will close out the regular season with a visit to Spalding University on October 29 in Louisville, Kentucky.
