SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - The Webster University men's golf team opened the 2026 spring season by competing in the two-day San Antonio Shoot-Out on Monday and Tuesday at TPC San Antonio Canyons and Oaks Golf courses. WU's Cole Makgill and Nico Marin led the way for the Gorloks with tournament scores of 232.
Round 1: TCP San Antonio - Canyons
Makgill opened the tournament on hole 14 and recorded consecutive pars. Moments later, he carded a bogey but followed up with a birdie on hole 17. Makgill continued the first nine holes with three straight pars on holes 18, one and two. He closed out the first nine holes with a bogey and a par for the score of 37.
The New Zealand native started the back nine holes on hole five and carded three consecutive pars on holes five, six, and seven and followed up with a birdie on hole eight. He closed out the final five holes of the first round with three pars and two bogeys for a two-over score of 74. For the round, he recorded 12 pars, 4 bogeys, and two birdies.
Marin opened the tournament on hole 15 and recorded four consecutive pars before carding a bogey on hole one. Moments later, he carded back-to-back pars on holes two and three before taking a double-bogey on the par-3 fourth hole. He closed out the first nine holes with a par on hole five for a score of 39.
The native of Mexico, opened the back nine on hole six with a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole. Following consecutive pars on hole seven and eight, he carded a birdie on hole nine. Moments later, he recorded consecutive bogeys on holes 10 and 11 but followed up with a birdie on the par-five 12th hole. He closed out the opening round with back-to-back pars on holes 13 and 14 for a two-par score of 74. For the round, he carded 11 pars, three bogeys, three birdies, and a double-bogey.
Thanaphat "Big" Amornjaturaporn finished third on the team with a three-over par score of 75. He started the tournament on hole 12 and recorded four consecutive pars through hole 15. Moments later, he carded three bogeys but closed out the first nine holes with pars on holes one and two for the score of 40.
Big began the final nine holes on hole three and recorded three straight pars to hole six. Following the pars, he got a stroke back with a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole. After the birdie, he recorded three consecutive pars on hole seven through nine. Following an unfortunate bogey, he closed out the first round with a par on hole 11 for the score of 75. For the round, he recorded 13 pars, 4 bogeys, and one birdie.
First-year Erik Malmgren had a solid opening round where he carded a six-over par score of 78. He started the tournament on hole 14 with a par but followed up with a three-hole stretch at five-over par. However, he followed up with a par on hole 18 and got a stroke back with a birdie on hole one. After an unfortunate bogey on hole two, he closed out the first nine holes with consecutive pars on holes three and four for the score of 41.
Malmgren began the final nine holes with a bogey and added a par on hole six. Moments later, he carded back-to-back birdies on holes seven and eight that got back to four-over. Following the birdies, he recorded three consecutive pars. However, he closed out the round with bogeys for the score of 78. For the round, he recorded eight pars, five bogeys, three birdies, and two double-bogeys.
Oscar Petitjean opened the tournament on hole 13 and started five-over. Moments later, he got a stroke back with a birdie on hole 15. Following two bogeys, he got a stroke back with a birdie on hole 18. He closed out the final three holes of the first nine holes at five-over for the score of 46.
Petitjean began the final nine holes with consecutive pars on holes four and five. Shortly later, he recorded back-to-back pars on holes eight and nine. He closed out the round with bogeys and a par on hole 12 for the 18-over par score of 90. For the round, he carded five pars, six bogeys, three double-bogeys, two birdies, and two quads.
Round 2: TCP San Antonio - Canyons
Big led the Gorloks in the second round with a three-over par score of 75. He opened the second round on hole 12 with a birdie and later carded another birdie on hole 14 to be two-under par. Moments later, he recorded a par on hole 15 and added another par on hole 17. He closed out the first nine holes with three bogeys for the score of 39.
Big began the final nine holes with consecutive pars on holes three and four and followed up with a birdie on hole five. After a bogey on hole six, he got that stroke with a birdie on hole seven. He closed out the final four holes of the second round alternating pars and bogeys to the score of 75. For the round, he recorded seven pars, seven bogeys, and four birdies.
Marin finished one stroke behind Big with a four-over score of 76. He opened the second round on hole 15 with a double-bogey but followed up two pars on holes 16 and 17. Following consecutive bogeys, he got a stroke back with a birdie on hole two. Moments later, he carded back-to-back pars on holes three and four. He closed out the first nine holes with a bogey for the score of 40.
Marin began the final nine holes with a birdie on hole six but gave it back that stroke back with a bogey on hole seven. Moments later, he recorded seven consecutive pars that earned the score of 76. For the round, he carded 11 pars, four bogeys, two birdies, and a double-bogey.
Makgill finished one stroke behind Marin with a five-over par score of 77. He opened the second round on hole 14 with a bogey but followed up with three straight pars. After making a bogey on hole 18, he followed up with consecutive pars on holes one and two. Moments later, he closed out the first nine holes with back-to-back birdies on holes three and four that earned the score of 36.
Makgill began the final nine holes with a par on hole five and later carded a par on hole seven. Following a four-hole stretch at five-over par, he got a stroke back with a birdie on hole 12. He closed out the second round with a par on hole 13 for the score of 77. For the round, he constructed nine pars, four bogeys, three birdies, and two double-bogeys.
Malmgren added a nine-over par score of 83 to the team score for the final round. He opened the second round on hole 14 with a bogey but that stroke back with a birdie on hole 15. Moments later, he carded five bogey and followed up with a par on hole three. He closed out the first nine holes with a birdie on hole five for the score of 40.

Petitjean opened the second round on hole 13 with a bogey but followed up with a par on hole 14. Following two bogeys, he recorded a par on hole 17. He closed out the final four holes of the first nine at six-over that included a par on hole two for the score of 42.

Shortly later, he recorded a bogey and followed up with a birdie on hole 12 for the score of 93. For the round, he recorded four pars, six bogeys, three double-bogeys, two quads, two birdies, and a triple-bogey.
Round 3: TPC San Antonio - Oaks
Makgill led the Gorloks in the final round with a nine-over par score of 81. He opened the final round on hole 15 and started one-over through seven holes that included six pars and a bogey on hole 17. He closed out the final two holes at four-over par for the score of 36.
Makgill began the final nine holes with consecutive pars on holes six and seven and followed up with a birdie on hole eight. Following a four-hole stretch at four-over, he recorded a par on hole 12. He closed out the tournament with a par on hole 14 for the score of 81. For the round, he constructed 10 pars, five bogeys, one birdie, one double-bogey, and one triple-bogey.
Marin (16-6 / 7-15 / 10-over 82) finished one shot behind Makgill as he carded a 10-over par score of 82. He opened the final round on hole 16 and carded three consecutive pars. Following a four-hole stretch at six-over, he carded a par on hole five. He closed out the first nine holes with a double-bogey for the score of 44.
Marin began the final nine holes with a par on hole seven and took a bogey on hole eight. Moments later, he carded five consecutive pars through hole 13. Following a bogey on hole 14, he closed out the tournament with a par on hole 15 for the score of 82. For the round, he recorded 11 pars, 4 bogeys, and three double-bogeys.
Malmgren opened the final round on hole 15 and started two-over through three holes that included a birdie on hole 17. Moments later, he carded a par on hole 18 then had two double-bogeys. He carded a par on hole three and closed out the first nine holes with two bogeys for the score of 43.
Malmgren began the final nine holes with a bogey on hole six but followed up with consecutive pars on holes seven and eight. Following a four-hole stretch of bogey golf, he closed out the tournament with a par on hole 14 for the score of 84. For the round, he carded six pars, nine bogeys, two double-bogeys, and one birdie.
Big finished one stroke behind Malmgren with a 16-over par score of 88. He opened the final round on hole 17 and carded back-to-back pars. Moments later, he recorded two bogeys and later closed out the first nine holes with three bogeys for the score of 45.
Big began the final nine holes on hole eight and went three-over par over a two-hole stretch. Moments later, he recorded a par on hole 10 and later added three consecutive pars on holes 12-14. He closed out the final two holes of the tournament at three-over par for the score of 88. For the round, he recorded six pars, eight bogeys, and four double-bogeys.
Petitjean closed out the tournament with a 21-over par score of 93. He opened the final round on hole 14 and carded back-to-back pars. Moments later, he carded a bogey on hole 16 and later added another bogey on hole one. He closed out the first nine holes with a double-bogey on hole four for the score of 51.
Petitjean began the final nine holes on hole four and recorded three bogeys before carding a par on hole eight. Following two bogeys, he added a par on hole 11. He closed out the tournament with two bogeys for the score of 93. For the round, he carded four pars, nine bogeys, three double-bogeys, and two triple-bogeys.
The Gorloks will have a month off of tournaments and will resume the spring season on March 16th competing in the UHSP Spring Invitational at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.
