Webster Women Glide by Greenville, 75-60

Box Score The Webster University women's basketball team got right back on the winning track in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, winning at Greenville College, 75-60, on February 12.  The Gorloks pulled out in front early on in the contest and kept the pressure on the Panthers as they maintained a comfortable lead throughout.

Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) was the leading scorer for the Gorloks, hitting 20 points on the night, and grabbing six rebounds.  Senior guard Kaliann Rikard (Cuba, MO/Cuba HS) had 11 points and led the team in rebounds (8), assists (7), and steals (3).

Rikard has 90 assists on the season, tying her for the eighth highest single season total in Webster history.  The all-time record is 119 set by Toni Picerno in 2004.

Sophomore guard Ashley Brooks (Hermann, MO/Hermann HS) had 10 points and five assists, and fellow sophomore guard Mia Williams (St. Louis, MO/Hazelwood West HS) had 10 points and six rebounds coming off the bench.

Center Cassie Endicott (JR, Bethalto, IL/Civic Memorial HS) had seven blocked shots on the night.  It was her third game of seven or more blocks this year.  With 61 total on the season, Endicott is threatening the all-time single season high of 70 set by Myrtie Reilly in 2008.  Endicott is already the Webster career holder with 150.

Webster held a 39-24 halftime advantage.  The Gorloks' win, making them 10-4 in the SLIAC, keeps them comfortably in the hunt for a spot in the conference post-season tournament.  Webster had a four-game winning streak in the SLIAC snapped on February 10 by Iowa Wesleyan.

Webster is 13-8 overall on the season.   The Gorloks travel to Louisville, KY, to face Spalding University on February 15 and to Fulton, MO, on February 19 to face Westminster College.
