Gorloks Power Past Panthers, 63-46

Box Score The Webster University women's basketball team picked up a big road win, defeating Principia College, 63-46, on February 6 at Elsah, IL.  With the win, the Gorloks improve to 8-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and remain in the hunt for first place.

Cassie Endicott (JR, Bethalto, IL/Civic Memorial HS) was the leading scorer for Webster with 14 points.  Endicott also had two blocked shots as she went 6-10 from the field.  Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) had nine points, a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.

Sophomore forward Brittany Harris-Conway (St. James, MO/John F. Hodge HS) had 13 points and five rebounds, also going 6-10 from the field.  Senior guard Kaliann Rikard (Cuba, MO/Cuba HS) led Webster with five assists and four steals.

The Gorloks led by four at the half, 24-20, but pulled away from the Panthers in the second.  Coach Jordan Olufson said of the Gorloks' effort, "We knocked some of the rust off tonight and really shot the ball well.  I was happy with the effort and liked the fact we went 14-15 from the free throw line."

Webster is 11-7 overall on the season.   The Gorloks are home on February 8 as they face MacMurray College, then host Iowa Wesleyan on February 10, making up a contest postponed on February 1 because of weather.  Wesleyan currently holds down first place in the SLIAC with a 9-1 record.
