Gorloks Harass Highlanders,71-46

The Webster University women's basketball team had a convincing victory with a, 71-46, win over MacMurray College, on January 31 in Jacksonville, IL.  It was the third win in the last four St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contests for the Gorloks.

Webster took a 34-22 halftime lead, as it was firmly in control throughout the game.  The Gorloks shot 48% (25-52) from the field and 93% (18-19) from the free throw line, while forcing 21 Highlander turnovers and picking up 12 steals.

Ashley Brooks (JR, Hermann, MO/Hermann HS) was the leading scorer for Webster with 14 points on the afternoon.  Brooks was 6-12 from the field, including 2-3 from the three-point line.   Brooks also had a team-high five steals.

Cassie Endicott (SR, Bethalto, IL/Civic Memorial HS) had 11 points, picking up seven from the free throw line.  Endicott reached a milestone as she moved into 10th place on Webster's all-time career scoring list.  She now has 801 points, eclipsing Katie Martin's (1996-00) total of 800.

Aley Lucas (FR, Sullivan, MO/Sullivan HS) also reached double figures for the Gorloks, coming off the bench to score 10 points and grab a team-high five rebounds.  Lucas was 3-4 from the field and 4-4 from the charity stripe.

Webster improves to 5-6 in the SLIAC and 8-10 overall on the season.

The Gorloks will host Principia College (IL) on February 3 at Grant Gymnasium.  Webster travels to Mt. Pleasant, IA, on February 7 to face Iowa Wesleyan College.
