Shooting an abbreviated second round score of 154 for a 461 total, the Webster University golf team wound up in a tie for eighth place at the Rhodes Spring Classic at Miriminchi GC in Memphis, TN, on April 14.  After a deluge of rain overnight, the second round was pared down to nine holes.  Jon Hughes shot a 37 to finish at 111 to lead the Gorloks.

Hughes (SO, Gardner, KS/Gardner Edgerton HS) shot a 74 in the first round and wound up tied for 16th in the competitive field of 78 golfers.  Teammate Jay Hargis (SO, Highland, IL/Highland HS) shot a 38 and finished with a 112 for the event, tying him for 21st.

The tournment had 14 teams from 10 different states, from the South and Midwest, competing.  Webster's next action will the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, on April 20-21 at Aberdeen GC in Eureka, MO.
