BELLEVILLE, Ill. - For the second consecutive week and fourth time in five weeks this spring season, Webster University senior Will Hocker (Grapevine, Texas/University of Oklahoma) repeated as this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Hocker earns the SLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week accolade for the fourth time in five weeks this season and 14th time in his Webster playing career, including earning the honor for the eighth time since the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. Webster has played in four events this spring and Hocker was named the Golfer of the Week after all four events. 

The 2019-20 PING Division III All-American repeats as this week's SLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week honor taking home medalist honors out of 70 golfers at the Rhodes College Spring Classic that was held this past Sunday and Monday at the Mirimichi Golf Club in Millington, Tenn. At the two-day, 54-hole event, Hocker carded a 7-under par 209 to win the individual title by five shots over runner-up Emilo Montalvo of the University of Dallas. He shot par or better in all three rounds of the event as he opened with a 3-under 69 in the first round, before carding an even-par 72 in the second round and then shooting a four-under par 68 in Monday's final round. The 68 is the lowest individual score this season for a Gorlok. In the final round, Hocker had six birdies, two bogeys and 10 pars on his scorecard. 

With his medalist honor at the Rhodes Spring Classic, Hocker has now won six tournaments in his collegiate career, including two this season as he was also the medalist at this year's season opening Big Blue Spring Opener hosted by Millikin University. Additionally, Hocker shot par or better in all three rounds at the Rhodes College Spring Classic and has now shot par of better in eight of his 12 rounds this season.

At the Rhodes Spring Classic, Hocker led the event in par-5 scoring as he played the course's four par-5 holes at 8-under and averaged an aggregate score of 4.33 on those four holes. In addition, he had a tournament best 15 birdies and was second in both par-3 and par-4 scoring as he averaged 2.92 on the par-3 holes and 4.07 on the par-4 holes. 

Hocker's play helped the Gorloks take home the team title at the event that featured 13 teams. Webster finished the tournament with a 54-hole team score of 9-over par 873 as they shot rounds of 294, 289 amd 290. The 289 in the second round is the lowest single round this season for the Gorloks. The Gorloks won the event by 20 shots over the University of Dallas, who carded an 893 for 54 holes, while LeTourneau University place third after shooting a 901 for 54 holes. 

Hocker and the Gorloks, who earned 38 votes in the most recent Division III Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll, will close out the 2021 spring regular season this coming weekend (April 17-18) as they travel to Decatur, Ill., to compete at the Take Back the Night Challenge held at both the Red Tail Golf Club and the Southside Country Club and hosted by Millikin University.
