SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Webster University golf team wrapped up play at the Wittenberg Classic this afternoon at Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio. The Gorloks finished in fifth place out of nine teams after shooting a two-round score of 619 (303-316, +51).
Cody Surma was the top finisher for Webster as he finished in a tie for 13
th out of 55 golfers after shooting a 152 (73-79, +10) through 36 holes.
Justin McCoy and
Jan Antonin Wdowka also finished in the top 20 as McCoy finished in a tie for 15
th place after shooting a 153 (74-79, +11) while Wdowka finished in a tie for 20
th after shooting a 154 (77-77, +12).
Austen Velazquez and
Nathan Rivera rounded out the scored players for the Gorloks as Velazquez finished in a tie for 30
th with a two-round score of 160 (79-81, +18) while Rivera finished in a tie for 43
rd with a two-round score of 168 (+26).
Josh Hayes competed as an individual for the Gorloks as he finished in a tie for 35
th after shooting a 163 (76-87, +21).
Wittenberg (Ohio) University won the event as they finished with a team score of 573 (280-293, +5). They were led by Evan DiSanto who won the event after shooting a 138 (67-71. -4).
This marks the end of the fall season for the Webster golf team. The Gorloks will return to the course in the spring.
