ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's basketball team is receiving votes in the latest WBCA NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. They currently sit 36
th in the poll with one point. They are the only team in the SLIAC to receive votes this season.
The Gorloks are currently 18-2 on the season and 8-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are riding a six-game winning streak with their last lost coming against Greenville (Ill.) University on January 11
th.
The Gorloks currently have four players averaging double figures including
Julie Baudendistel who is averaging a team high 15.1 points per game. She is also averaging 5.8 rebounds per game while leading the team with 47 steals. In addition to Baudendistel,
Bethany Lancaster is averaging 12.2 points and a team high 8.0 rebounds per game,
Kate Rolfes is averaging 10.7 points per game, and
Emily Wilson is averaging 10.6 points per game.
Nysa Gilchrist currently leads the team with 52 assists.
Webster currently ranks in the top 10 nationally in four statistical categories including sixth in field goal percentage (45.5%), seventh in scoring offense (80.1), 10
th in turnover margin (8.95), and sixth in turnovers forced per game (27.95). They also rank in the top 20 in assists per game (17.8), total points (1,602), scoring margin (21.1), steals per game (15.0), and winning percentage (.900).
The Gorloks will return to the court on Saturday, February 4
th when they travel down Big Bend to take on the Fontbonne (Mo.) University Griffins for the SLIAC Game of the Week. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
