ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, September 4^th. For their efforts this past week, Jan Antonin Wdowka was named the Men's Golfer of the Week, Ethan Nieroda was named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, and Tahla Dizdarevic was named the Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Wdowka, a sophomore out of the Czech Republic, had an outstanding outing to start the 2023-24 season. The reigning SLIAC Individual Champion picked up right where he left off last season and won his second career tournament. He shot a 71 (-1) in the first round, a 69 (-3) in the second round, and a career low 66 (-6) in the third round to finish with a three-round score of 206 (-10). His third round score of 66 helped the Gorloks post a 281 final round score which is tied for the best round in program history. The team finished just one stroke behind McDaniel (Md.) College for first place after shooting an 863 (295-287-281, -1) for the tournament. This is his third career SLIAC Golfer of the Week Award.

Nieroda, a freshman out of O'Fallon, Illinois, had a great debut for the Gorloks. He finished in 13^th place out of 75 runners at the Rose-Hulman Opener after finishing the 5K race with a time of 17:24. He helped lead the team to a fourth place finish in the met and was just 15 seconds off of earning a top 10 finish. This is his first career SLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award.

Dizdarevic, a freshman out of St. Louis, Missouri, also had a fantastic debut for the Gorloks. He recorded his first career hat trick in a 4-2 win over Maryville (Tenn.) College on Friday. He converted on two penalty kicks and also scored on a free kick from outside the box to help lift the Gorloks to their first win of the season. This is his first career SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Award.
