ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has released the names of the student-athletes who have been named Runners of the Week for the week of September 30- October 6 in the sports of men's and women's cross country. WU's
William Howells was named the SLIAC Men's Runner of the Week as he achieved a new season-bests in the 8k race this season.
Last week, the Gorloks traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana and participated at the 2024 Division III Pre-Nationals 8k race at LaVern Gibson XC Course hosted by Rose-Hulman. At the conclusion of the race, a
ll seven student-athletes on the team achieved either a new personal or season-best finish.
At that race, Howells maneuvered his way around the course and achieved a new season-best race with a time of 28:37.14 which shattered his previous season-best by 52 seconds.
With that time, Howells now ranks inside the top-10 in the SLIAC for that distance.
