ONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Webster University golf team was back in action over the last two days when they traveled to Montgomery, Alabama, to compete in the Wynlakes Intercollegiate at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club. The Gorloks finished in a tie for sixth place after shooting a two round team score of 603 (303-300, +27).
Jan Antonin Wdowka led the way for Webster as he finished in a tie for 20
th after shooting back-to-back rounds of 75 (+3) to finish with a two-round score of 150 (+6). He finished tied for first in par three scoring average (2.75) while recording a team high seven birdies.
Justin McCoy and
Logan Forister were not too far behind Wdowka as they both finished in a tie for 29
th after posting two-round scores of 152 (+8). McCoy shot an 80 (+8) in the first round and a 72 (E) in the second round. Forister shot back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4).
Austen Velazquez and
Josh Hayes rounded out the competitors for the Gorloks as they finished in a tie for 38
th and a tie for 51
st, respectively. Velazquez shot a two-round score of 154 (73-81, +10) while Hayes shot a two-round score of 156 (+12). Velazquez also recorded a team high 25 pars.
Huntingdon (Ala.) College won the event after shooting a 571 (-5) as a team. The Huntingdon College B team took second with a team score of 581 (+5).
The Gorloks will return to the course on Monday, April 15
th and Tuesday, April 16
th when they travel to Memphis, Tennessee, to compete in the Cochran Collegiate hosted by Rhodes (Tenn.) College.
