WU’s LaRue Advances to Finals In 60m; Four Gorloks Secure New Personal-Records On Day One At Principia Relays

ELSAH, Ill. - The Webster University men's track and field team had several student-athletes compete on day one of the Principia College Relays on Friday. WU's Lucas LaRue earned a spot in the finals for tomorrow while four other Gorloks secured new personal-records. 

In the 60m dash event, WU's Nic Richardson led the Gorloks with a time of 7.78 seconds. In addition, Thomas Ogata rounded out the field of competitors for Webster and recorded a new personal-record with a time of 8.07 seconds.

In the 60m hurdles event, LuRue recorded a new personal-record with a time of 9.22 which qualified for a spot in tomorrow's finals. 

In the high jump, three Gorloks competed in the event led by Nkunim Kauame with a clearance of 1.70m. In addition, Ogata and Mason Oldani recorded the same mark of 1.65m. 

In the pole vault event, WU's Elijah Bohler achieved a new personal-record in this event with a clearance of 4.20m on his fourth attempt.

In the weight throw, Jahrel Claude recorded a new personal-record with a mark of 9.97m on his second attempt.

The Gorloks will conclude the two-day meet tomorrow Saturday, February 1 starting at 9:00AM in Elsah, Illinois.
