Men’s Track Secured Eleven Top-10 Finishes at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Webster University men's track and field team made their final trip to the state of Indiana for the indoor season and competed in the Blue-White Classic hosted by Indiana State on Saturday. The Gorloks secured eleven top-10 finishes and six new personal-records at this meet.

In the 200m dash, three Gorloks earned top-10 finishes led by Austin Merritt with a time of 23.69 seconds that placed fourth overall. In addition, first-year Lucas LaRue placed seventh with a time of 24.80 seconds. WU's Mason Oldani placed eighth overall with a time of 24.93 seconds.

In the 400m dash, Dylan Patterson was the lone entry for Webster and recorded a new indoor personal-record with a time of 52.48 seconds that placed eighth overall.

In the 800m, WU's Jacob Hawkins achieved a new season-best with a time of 2:20.61.

In the 3000m run, Ethan Nieroda led the trio of Gorloks with a new season-best time of 9:14.80 that placed eighth overall. In addition, first-year Daniel McClellan secured a new personal-record with a time of 9:43.06. WU's Johnny Imboden rounded out the field for Webster and achieved a new personal-record with a time of 9:58.94.

In the high jump event, Oldani led the team with a mark of 1.75m. In addition, Thomas Ogata and Nkunim Kouame rounded out the field for Webster with identical marks of 1.65m.

In the pole vault, first-year Elijah Bohler achieved a new personal-record with a clearance of 4.26m.

In the long jump, WU's Robin Wong earned a fifth overall finish with a mark of 5.94m. Ogata rounded out the field for Webster with a new personal-record mark of 5.42m.

In the weight throw, Jahrel Claude-Ennin recorded a new personal-record with a mark of 12.25m that placed 11th overall.

In the shot put event, Claude-Ennin earned tenth overall with a distance of 12.52m. WU's Merritt concluded the event for Webster with a mark of 10.55m.

The Gorloks will compete in their final regular season indoor meet of the season on Friday, February 21 with their second trip to Illinois College for the IC Hilltop Classic in Jacksonville, Illinois.
