WU’s Bethany Lancaster Selected As SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year In Women’s Basketball.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the end of season awards for the sport of women's basketball. WU's Bethany Lancaster was selected as the 2024-25 SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the SLIAC All-Defensive Team.

On the defensive side of the ball, Lancaster defended every single opponent the full 94 feet of the basketball court and used her long wingspan that generated a plethora of steals and blocks. This season, Lancaster finished second on the team with 54 steals that included 39 steals in conference play for an average of 2.3 steals per game. In addition, she finished third on the team with 21 blocks that included 19 in league play for an average of 0.9 blocks per game.

Lancaster is the second Gorlok to win this award as he joins Addison Beussink from the 2022 season.
