WU’s Claude-Ennin Sets New Shot Put School Record; Five Other Gorloks Achieved New Personal Records At Jim Green Invite

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Webster University men's track and field program continued the indoor season by participating in the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Illinois College on Saturday. WU's Jahrel Claude-Ennin broke his own previous all-time school record mark from last weekend with a new personal-best distance of 12.75m. Five other Gorloks achieved new personal-records at this meet.

In the weight throw event, Claude-Ennin secured a new personal-record with a distance of 10.43m.

In the pole vault, WU's Mark Govero finished first among all collegiate student-athletes with a clearance of 4.55m. Elijah Bohler also competed in the event and earned a sixth place finish with a clearance of 4.10m.

In the triple jump, the Gorloks entered two student-athletes as Robin Wong recorded a mark of 12.40m. WU's Thomas Ogata recorded a new personal-best with a mark of 11.85m.

In the high jump event, four student-athletes competed in this event as Nkumim Kauame, Ogata, and Armond Williams cleared the same mark of 1.70m as that mark is a new personal-record for Ogata. WU's Mason Oldani rounded out the field of competitors for Webster with a clearance of 1.60m.

In the 60m dash, eight Gorloks competed in the event led by Dylan Patterson as he recorded a time of 7.04 seconds in prelims and followed up with a time of 7.05 seconds in finals that earned fifth overall. WU's Austin Merritt was the next Gorlok that crossed the finish line as he recorded a time of 7.15 seconds in prelims and then followed up with a new personal-record time of 7.09 seconds in finals that earned sixth overall. In addition, Steven Aubuchon recorded a time of 7.22 seconds as Robin Wong recorded a new personal-record with a time of 7.37 seconds. WU's Oldani recorded a time of 7.61 seconds while Kossa Othniel achieved a new personal-record with a time of 7.68 seconds. WU's Bohler and Govero rounded out the field of competitors for Webster with times of 7.96 seconds and 8.24 seconds respectively.

In the 60m hurdles event, Armond Williams placed fifth in the prelims with a time of 9.24 seconds and placed eighth in finals with a time of 9.44 seconds. WU's Lucas LaRue recorded a time of 9.53 seconds.

In the 200m event, WU's Aubuchon was the lone competitor for Webster and recorded a time of 24.27 seconds.

In the 400m event, WU's Kauame was the lone Gorlok competitor in the event and recorded a time of 1:00.34.

In the 800m event, five Gorloks competed in the event led by Ethan Nieroda as he tied his personal-record with a time of 2:12.41. In addition, Kenneth Louvierre recorded a time of 2:15.69 while Johnny Imboden recorded a time of 2:16.29. First-year competitors Daniel McClellan and Noah Smith rounded out the event for Webster with times of 2:17.88 and 2:21.90 respectively.

In the mile run, five Gorloks competed in the event led by William Howells as he secured a new season-best with a time of 4:40.18. In addition, Nieroda was the second Gorlok that crossed the finish line as he posted a time of 4:49.13. WU's McClellan tied his personal-best record with a time of 4:53.22. Imboden and Jacob Hawkins rounded out the field of competitors with times of 5:00.55 and 5:20.74 as that time by Hawkins is a new season-best.

The Gorloks closed out the meet with the 4x400 relay as the team of Merritt, Nic Richardson, Oldani, and LaRue earned a seventh overall with a time of 3:39.58. The second Webster team of Louvierre, Hawkins, Imboden, and Nieroda earned a time of 3:58.54.

The Gorloks will continue the indoor season with a visit to Indiana State University on February 15 participating in the Blue-White Classic in Terre Haute, Indiana.
