WU’s Bethany Lancaster Named To D3hoops.com All-Region VIII Third Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Graduate student Bethany Lancaster capped off her five-year incredible collegiate career being named to the D3hoops.com All-Region VIII Third Team as announced by the organization. With this selection, it marks her first All-Region selection of her career. 

Lancaster, a forward from Buffalo, Missouri put up outstanding numbers this season as she finished the season atop of several SLIAC statistical categories which led to a plethora of top 100 national finishes.  

She led the team in scoring with 473 total points for an average of 18.9 points per game. Her scoring average finished fourth in the SLIAC, 6th all-time in Webster history for a single-season, and tied for 44th in the nation. 

In addition, she led the Gorloks in rebounding with 220 total rebounds for an average of 8.8 rebounds per game. That rebounding average finished third in the conference and tied for 100th in the nation. On the offensive side, Lancaster averaged 5.0 rebounds per game which ranks first all-time in Webster history books for a single-season. 

Moreover, Lancaster led the team and conference in field goal percentage as she shot 55.2 percent from the field. With this field goal percentage, she ranks fourth all-time in Webster history books for a single-season. Over the season, she made 185 total baskets which finished in a tie for 39th in the nation. 

Additionally, she led the team with a total of 145 free-throw attempts which finished second in the conference and tied for 64th in the nation. Out of those 145 attempts, she made 103 which finished third in the conference and a tie for 65th in the nation. 

Lancaster was a dominant force on both sides of the ball as she led the team with 11 double-doubles which finished third in the conference and in a tie for 58th in the nation. 

On the defensive end, she finished second on the team and eighth in the conference with 58 steals for an average of 2.3 steals per game. Additionally, she finished third on the team and eighth in the conference with 23 blocks for an average of 0.9 per game. 

At the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, Lancaster was named the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, earned a First Team All-Conference honor, selected to the All-Defensive Team, and was named the SLIAC Player of the Week five times. 

Lancaster ends her Gorlok career as a 5x regular season champion, 3x SLIAC Tournament Champion (made three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances), 3x All-Conference selection (two firsts and one second), the 2022-23 SLIAC Tournament MVP, and 2x All-Defensive Team honors.
