WU’s Govero Secures Pole Vault Champion, Seven Gorloks Achieve New Personal Record In Regular Season Finale

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Webster University men's track and field teams closed out the regular season by competing at the Twilight Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday. Sophomore Mark Govero secured pole vault champion with a clearance of 4.57m while seven other Gorloks achieved a new personal record at this meet.

In the 100m dash, Dylan Patterson achieved a new personal record with a time of 10.82 seconds in the prelims that secured a spot in the finals. In the finals, he ran a time of 10.90 seconds that earned third overall. WU's Steven Aubuchon recorded a time of 11.03 seconds that placed 10th overall in the prelims. First-year Kossa Othniel rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 12.21 seconds.

In the 110m hurdles, fifth-year Armond Williams recorded a time of 16.65 seconds. First-year Lucas LaRue captured a new personal record with a time of 16.72 seconds.

In the 200m dash, Aubuchon and Othniel were the only two Webster competitors and recorded times of 23.08 seconds and 26.02 seconds respectively.

In the 400m dash, Nic Richardson was the lone Gorlok in the event and recorded a time of 51.46 seconds.

In the 400m hurdles, LaRue earned a ninth overall finish with a time of 1:00.13.

In the 800m event, senior Kenneth Louvierre earned a new personal record with a time of 2:12.48. In addition, sophomore Jacob Hawkins secured a new personal record with a time of 2:12.70.

In the 5000m event, four Gorloks competed in the event led by William Howells with a time of 16:59.57. First-year Daniel McClellan and sophomore Johnny Imboden ran under 12 minutes with times of 17:24.69 and 17:34.05 respectively. First-year Noah Smith rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 18:35.74.

In the 4x400m relay race, the Gorloks entered in two teams. The first relay team of Patterson, Howells, Oldani, and Richardson placed sixth overall with a time of 3:34.17. The second relay team of Hawkins, Imboden, Louvierre, and Smith recorded a time of 3:56.27.

In the long jump event, three first-year student-athletes competed in the event led by Robin Wong with a mark of 6.32m that earned fifth overall. Thomas Ogata secured a new personal record with a mark of 5.89m while Kauame rounded out the field for Webster with a mark of 5.64m.

In the triple jump event, Wong was the lone Webster competitor and recorded a mark of 12.56m that secured seventh overall.

In the high jump, Kauame achieved a new personal record with a mark of 1.80m that earned fourth overall. In addition, Ogata secured an eighth place finish with a clearance of 1.70m.

In the hammer throw event, first-year Jahrel Claude-Ennin earned a new personal record with a mark of 37.19m

In the javelin event, Claude-Ennin recorded a mark of 24.46m.

In addition to Govero in the pole vault, first-year Elijah Bohler earned eighth overall with a clearance of 4.12m.

The Gorloks will compete in their biggest event of the season on Friday, April 25th by participating in the 2025 SLIAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Greenville University in Greenville, Illinois.
