Men’s Track Conclude Outdoor Season At Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Webster University men's track and field team closed out the 2025 outdoor season by competing at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier hosted by Augustana College on Wednesday. Six Gorloks set their final marks of the season at this meet that included four top-20 finishes. 
 
In the pole vault event, SLIAC champion Mark Govero secured an eighth place finish with a clearance of 4.50m (14' 9.00"). Govero ends his sophomore season ranked in a tie for seventh in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a clearance of 4.85m (15' 11") set back on April 25, 2025 at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships.

First-year Elijah Bohler capped off his freshman season with a height of 3.90m (12' 9.50"). In addition, he closes out the season ranked in a tie for 15th overall in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a clearance of 4.45m (14' 7.25") set back on April 25, 2025 at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships.

In the high jump event, first-year competitor Nkunim Kouame closed out his season with a clearance of 1.87m (6' 1.50") that placed 10th overall out of 19 competitors.

Out of the field of 53 competitors in the 100m dash, Austin Merritt and Dylan Patterson capped off their seasons with top-17 finishes. Merritt closed out his junior season with a time of 10.76 seconds that placed 12th overall. The junior end of his season ranked 10th in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a personal record time of 10.67 seconds set on May 9, 2025 at the University of St. Francis. 

The 2025 Outdoor SLIAC champion in this 100m event in Patterson closed out his season with a time of 10.82 seconds that placed 17th overall. The sophomore sprinter ends the season ranked 11th  in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a personal record time of 10.68 seconds set on May 9, 2025 at the University of St. Francis. 

In the 200m event, there were 80 competitors that competed in the event as Merritt closed out this event for the year with a time of 21.92 seconds that placed 21st overall. He ended the outdoor season ranked 10th in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a time of 21.50 seconds set on May 9, 2025 at the University of St. Francis. 

St. Louis native Patterson capped his season in this event with a time of 22.20 seconds that placed 32nd overall. He ended the outdoor season ranked 21st in the Division III Midwest Region rankings with a personal record time of 21.72 seconds set on May 9, 2025 at the University of St. Francis. 

In the 800m event, William Howells capped off his senior season with a new personal record with a time of 1:58.76. 

In the 110m hurdles event, Lucas LaRue capped off his fantastic freshman season with a time of 16.44 seconds.
