Women’s Basketball Earn 7th Straight SLIAC Regular Season Title

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Webster University women's basketball team had a fantastic conference season and have earned the 2025-26 SLIAC Women's Basketball Regular Season title with a 14-2 conference record. With this title, it marks their seventh consecutive Regular Season title! With the regular season complete, the Gorloks have secured the No. 1 seed and will host the 2025-26 SLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament starting on February 27th.

This season, the Gorloks earned two conference wins before the 2026 calendar year but took a setback against Westminster that started 2026. Following that game, Webster went on an eight-game conference win streak. 

Following a defeat against Principia College on February 7th, the Gorloks closed out the conference regular season with a four-game win streak that secured the regular season title. 

In conference play, seven Gorloks ended the regular season inside the top-25 of at least one statisical category. Meghan Illingworth finished seventh in blocks with 16 for an average of 0.9 per game, 11th in scoring with an average of 11.8 points per game, and 18th in rebounding with an average of 5.2 per game. 

Senior guard Miya Webb finished the regular season seventh in steals with 64 for an average of 2.6 per game, eighth in assists with an average of 2.8 per game, 19th in scoring with an average of 10.0 points per game, and 24th in minutes played with an average of 25.4 minutes per game. 

First-year guard Akaela Caquelin finished fifth with an average of 1.8 three-pointers made per game, 16th in steals with 42 for an average of 1.8 per game, 21st in rebounding with an average of 4.9 per game, and 22nd in blocks with 7 for an average of 0.3 per game.

Senior guard Claire Williams finished 12th in steals with 52 for an average of 2.1 per game, 15th in assists with an average of 2.1 per game, and 25th in blocks with 6 for an average of 0.2 per game.

Junior guard Kaimyla Nolen finished 16th in the conference in assists with an average of 2.0 per game and 25th in steals with 29 for an average of 1.4 per game.

First-years Peyton Dolan finished 13th in conference with an average of 1.2 three-pointers made per game while Daijah Jones finished 20th in assists with an average 1.8 per game.

The Gorloks will begin postseason play on Friday, February 27th hosting the lowest advancing seed on at 7:30pm in Grant Gym.
