Capkovic Recognized as NCAA Scoring Leader for 2009

NCAA Leader in Points and Goals Per Game

Christy Capkovic (JR, Mehlville HS, STL), a forward on the Webster University women's soccer team, has been recognized by the NCAA as the 2009 Division III national statistical champion for points and goals per game.  Capkovic scored 33 goals (1.65 per game) and finished with 79 points (3.9 per game) on the season.

In addtion to setting Webster University single-season records, Capkovic also became the Webster career leader in goals (70) and points (179) in her third season as a Gorlok.  Capkovic's stellar season  gained her recognition by several other organizations as well.  She was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America 2009 Academic All-District Team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Central Region Team, and the NSCAA All-Region Scholars Team. 

The Webster women's soccer team was 15-4-1 for the 2009 season, winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship, and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
