Fontbonne Sneaks by Women's Soccer in OT, 1-0

Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team fell to a determined Fontbonne University squad, 1-0 in OT, at the Soccer Park on October 23.  With the loss, the Gorloks are 6-1 and fall into a three-way tie at the top of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Gorloks miss out on several good chances, Webster and Fontbonne exchanged chances in the second half but again the Gorloks could not break through.  Less than three minutes into overtime the Griffins scored on a loose ball in the box for the win.  A win would have clinched Webster's first SLIAC regular season title  since 2007.

Webster is 13-5 overall and are ranked 9th in the NCAA III Central Region.  The Gorloks travel to Greenville College (IL) on October 27.

The Gorloks will have a SLIAC tournament first round contest on October 31 with the opponent, site, and time TBD.
