Gorloks Will Be Donning Pink for the Month of October

Gorloks Blitz Beavers, 5-0

Box Score Staked to a 4-0 lead, with three goals in a three minute span, the Webster University women's soccer team defeated Blackburn College, 5-0, on October 3 at the Soccer Park.  The Gorloks opened play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with the victory.

Goals by Ally Nikolaus (JR, St. Joseph's Academy, MO), Kristin Montgomery (SO, Duchesne HS, MO), and Briana Small (FR, Lake Park HS, IL), from the 17 minute through the 20 minute mark, quickly padded a 1-0 lead to a 4-0 difference.  The spurt left Webster firmly in control of the contest.

Lauren Pratt (FR, Incarnate Word Academy, MO) had opened the scoring for Webster with a goal at the 12:00 minute mark.  The goal was Pratt's team-leading seventh.   Nikolaus and Montgomery each netted their sixth goals of the season.

Webster outshot the Beavers, 24-1, in the first half and 55-1for the contest.  Jessica Davis (SO, Belleville West HS, IL) had to make just one save in recording her fifth shutout of the season.

Jordan Fosburgh (JR, Collinsville HS, IL) completed the scoring for the Gorloks with a second-half goal to make it a 5-0 final.

Webster will be back at the Soccer Park on October 5 to take on Spalding University (KY), and on October 7 to face Carroll University (WI).
