Gorloks Last Unbeaten in SLIAC

Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team earned its ninth shutout in 16 games this season with a 3-0 win over Spalding University (Ky.) Wednesday (Oct. 23) in Louisville.

The Gorloks held the Golden Eagles — who scored 28 goals in their six previous St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games (4.7 goals per game) — to seven shots at goal and one shot on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Jessica Davis (Belleville, IL / Belleville West) made one save to collect her seventh solo shutout this season. Webster outshot the home team 24-7, including a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal.

The Gorloks have won six straight games and outscored their opponents 27-2 during that span.

Sophomore Jessica Mess (St. Louis, MO / Northwest) opened the scoring in the 31st minute with her third goal in as many games. The game-winning tally was Mess's second in three contests. Mess is now tied with junior Kristin Montgomery (St. Louis, MO / Duchesne) for the team lead in game-winning goals with three.

Two and a half minutes after halftime, senior Jordan Fosburgh (Collinsville, IL / Collinsville) scored on an assist from junior Lindsey Adshade (Chicago, IL / DeKalb).

Sophomore Lauren Bordeaux (St. Louis, MO / Kirkwood) recorded the first goal of her collegiate career in the 80th minute. Senior Katie Aubuchon (St. Louis, MO / Affton) earned her first point of the season with the assist.

Webster improved to 14-2 overall and 6-0 in the SLIAC with the shutout win. The Gorloks are the SLIAC's only unbeaten team in conference action.

Webster continues SLIAC play with a road game against MacMurray (Ill.) Saturday (Oct. 26). The Gorloks then host Westminster Tuesday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m.
