Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team won its fourth straight St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game, shutting out MacMurray College (IL), 12-0, on October 14 at the Soccer Park. The Gorloks hold onto at least a share of first place in the SLIAC at 4-0, depending upon the outcome of the Fontbonne/Principia contest taking place that evening.
The Gorloks have not allowed a goal in SLIAC play with all four wins being by shutout, and have allowed only two goals in their last six contests, going 5-1 in that stretch. The win was Webster's 14th straight in the SLIAC in regular season play, dating back to 2012.
In goal for Webster during that stretch has been Rachael Ainsworth (FR, Salt Lake City, UT/Salt Lake School for Science Education) who, along with fellow freshman Robin Bolme (Smyrna, TN/Blackmon HS) picked up the Gorloks' seventh shutout of the season. Ainsworth lowered her goals against average for the season to 0.62, as she improved to 5-2-1 in the nets. For Bolme, it was her first time playing goal for the Gorloks, sharing in the shutout.
Leading the goal barrage for Webster was Jessica Mess (JR, St. Louis, MO/Northwest HS) and Allie Ferguson (SO, Highland, IL/Highland HS), each with two goals on the night. For Mess, she scored her third and fourth goals on the season, while Ferguson netted her fifth and sixth. Freshman Kayla Dye (St. Louis, MO/Windsor HS) scored her team leading seventh goal in the game, and leads the Gorloks with 19 points on the season.
Kelsey Hausmann (FR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville HS) scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the win. Also scoring for Webster were Amy Schield (SR, Belleville, IL/Belleville West HS), Brianna Pagan (FR, St. Louis, MO/Washington HS), Kristin Montgomery (SR, St. Louis, MO/Duchesne HS), Lindsey Adshade (SR, Chicago, IL/DeKalb HS), Lauren Nuelle (SO, St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy), and Lauren Pratt (JR, St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy)
Montgomery's goal, her third on the season, gave her nine points on the season and moved her into eighth place on Webster's all-time scoring list, with 88 points for her career. Montgomery is also eighth on Webster's career goal scoring list with 34.
Webster built a 12-0 lead at halftime and wound up outshooting the Highlanders, 49-1.
The Gorloks are 7-4-3 overall on the season with the victory on 'Pack The House' night at the Soccer Park. Webster takes to the road for its next two contests, travelling to Elsah, IL, on October 18 to face Principia College (IL) and to Fulton, MO, on October 22, to face Westminster College.
