The Webster University women's soccer team will host Greenville College (IL) in the first round of the 2015 SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament on November 5 at the Soccer Park at 6:00 p.m.  This is the third season in a row the Gorloks have entered the Tournament as the #1 seed and have earned the right to host.   was the fourth straight season Webster either won outright or shared the SLIAC regular season title.

Westminster College and Splading University (KY)) will play in the other semi-final of the SLIAC Tournament, with the winners advancing to the championship game on Saturday, November 7. The championship game will be held at the highest remaining seed's home site.

There is an admission fee for the tournament.  Webster students with a valid ID will be admitted free.  For adults admission is $5 and for children 5-16 admission is $2.  Children four and under admitted free.

Championship Notes

• This year's tournament field features the top four scoring team's in the SLIAC this season (Webster #1, Greenville #2, Spalding #3, and Westminster #4)
• Webster has won the last three SLIAC Tournaments and seven overall.
• Spalding is appearing in their first SLIAC Tournament.
• When Webster lost at Spalding on Oct. 21, it was its first conference loss in 25 regular season games.
• Greenville went 0-3 this year against teams in the tournament.
• Westminster was 1-2 this year against tournament teams.
• Spalding went 3-0 against the teams in this year's tournament.
• Webster finished 2-1 against this year's tournament teams.

 

	Webster University "Gorloks" #1 Webster holds the top spot in the tournament after going 12-5 overall and finishing the year with an 8-1 record in conference play. The Gorloks come into the tournament having won seven of their last eight games including a come from behind win in overtime against Greenville. The Gorloks led the conference in scoring with 62 goals and average 22.6 shots per game. Freshman Chelsea Noser led Webster in scoring this year with 29 points, on 12 goals and five assists. The Gorloks had five players net five or more goals this season including senior Lauren Pratt who buried eight goals. In the nets, freshman Alisa Coralic has taken control, starting the last four games and holding a 0.93 goals-against average and an 8-1 record for the season.
	Spalding University "Golden Eagles" #2 Spalding will be making their first ever appearance in the SLIAC Tournament after going 10-4-2 overall and 7-1-1 in SLIAC action. Spalding tallied 50 goals this season, third most in the SLIAC, and average 12.9 shots per game this season. Despite their low shot total they make the most of their chances, with a league best .242 shot percentage and a .691 shot on goal percentage. Dee Dee Sliter, a junior, tied for the conference lead with 17 goals and finished with 37 total points. Sophomores Madison Ratchford (9 goals) and Baylee Tabler (7 goals) add to the scoring depth. In net the Golden Eagles have junior Kelsey Kaiser, who has a 1.47 goals-against average and 55 saves while recording two shutouts this season.
	Westminster College "Blue Jays" #3 Westminster went 9-6-1 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Westminster ranked fourth in the league in scoring this season with 48 goals, while allowing a league low 17 goals. They dropped their final regular season game, a 2-1 loss to Spalding, which snapped a three game winning streak. The Blue Jays average 17.0 shots per game, second most in the league this year. The Blue Jays are led by a trio of young players in sophomore Morgan Henry and freshmen Courtney Whitlock and Gracie Koonce. Henry led the team with 12 goals while Whitlock led the team with nine assists and Koonce finished with seven goals. Defensively the Blue Jays are anchored by sophomore defender Abby Rockers, 2014 SLIAC Co-Defender of the Year, and junior keeper Ellen Woolsey, a 1.04 goals-against average with 48 saves and four shutouts.
	Greenville College "Panthers" #4 Greenville begins postseason play with a 9-7-3 overall record and finished the 2015 conference season with a 6-3 mark. Greenville was second in the league in scoring this season with 56 goals and come into the postseason having dropped their last games. They average 14.8 shots per game and allowed 26 goals on the year. The Panthers have plenty of scoring punch with four players recording at least 20 points this season. Leading the way is freshman Dani Pearce with 10 goals and nine assists while senior Kieley Leach tied with Pearce for the team lead with 10 goals. In net sophomore Hope Brakenhoff has played nearly every minute this season and holds a 1.56 goals against average with 65 saves.
