BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Webster University senior forward Savannah Page (Sandy, Utah/Jordan) has been named this season's initial St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the 2019 season on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
 
Page, who earns her first career SLIAC Player of the Week accolade, took home this week's first honor from the league after notching two goals and adding an assist for a total of five points to help the Gorloks open the season with a 4-2 win on Friday at Concordia-Chicago.
 
In the Gorloks 4-2 come-from-behind win on Friday in the season at CUC, Page scored the Gorloks first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute and then added a second goal, which was unassisted, about 58 seconds later to help WU tie the match with the Cougars at 2-all. Page then recorded an assist on WU's third goal to give the Gorloks a 3-2 lead. Against the Cougars, Page took three shots and two of those shot were on goal.  
 
Along with the two goals and assist for the week, Page finished with five shots and had three shots on goal for the week. The two goal game against CUC marked her fourth career two goal game.
 
Meanwhile, the league named Fontbonne senior goalkeeper Makayla Hussong as the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. For the week, Hussong recorded 12 saves and had an 0.90 goals-against-average and also had an .857 save percentage. She opened the week by stopping all seven shots in a 0-0 tie against the University of the Ozarks and then have five saves in a 2-0 loss to Rhodes.

Page and the rest of her Gorlok teammates (1-1 on the season) will return to action this coming Saturday, Sept. 7 as they open the home portion of its 2019 schedule with a 12 p.m. match against Elmhurst College at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo.
