WEBSTER GROVES – Webster University Athletics is set to begin its unveiling of its All-Decade Teams from the 2010s as it compiles the best student-athletes across the past 10 seasons (2010-19) in each of Webster's intercollegiate athletic teams. Our first team to be unveiled is the 2010-19 All-Decade Women's Soccer Team.
During the decade, the Gorloks continued to be the class of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as they earned 149 victories and won 80 of 87 conference matches, including going a perfect 9-0-0 in league play five times and compiled a 149-51-5 overall record. Along with winning 149 matches and 80 of 87 conference matches, Webster also ended the decade by winning eight consecutive regular season SLIAC titles, won six SLIAC Tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament six times in those 10 years.
Along with their success on the field, that success also brought recognition for Webster's players as all 23 players on the All-Decade Team earned All-SLIAC honors a combined 63 times, including earning first team honors 34 times and nine players being selected four-time All-SLIAC selections. In addition, the players also earned 16 All-Region honors and four SLIAC Tournament MVP honors. In addition, four players earned SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, including Elena Bloma and
Lilly Brauer earning the honor twice and three players earned SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year honors, including
Melissa Kasper winning the honor two times. The team also earned two SLIAC Newcomer of the Year awards.
One of the All-Decade Team members, Christy Capkovic, is a member of both the SLIAC and Webster Athletics Hall of Fame, while Megan Niederschulte is a member of the Webster Athletics Hall of Fame. The All-Decade players honored earned a combined 37 SLIAC Player of the Week accolades from 2010-19.
The All-Decade team was also successful in the classroom. The team was honored with the NSCAA Team Academic Award all 10 years of the decade and 16 players were selected to the NSCAA All-Region Academic Team. Ashley Mess was selected to the NSCAA Academic All-America Team and Capkovic was selected a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Goalkeeper
Jessica Davis (Belleville, Ill. – 2011-14)
In her four years with the Gorloks, Davis was a four-time All-SLIAC selection and a three-time First-Team All-SLIAC selection in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team selection in 2012. She became the first goalkeeper in SLIAC history to be named Newcomer of the Year in 2011. Additionally, Davis was a 5-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week selection. In goal, she holds school career records for most wins (44), most ties (3), goalie games started (54) and is second in career goals against average (0.65) and is third in career saves (172) and goalie games played (71). In addition, she holds school single season recorded for wins (17 in 2013), games played (22 in 2012), games started (22 in 2012) and her 82 saves in 2012 is third on the school's single season chart. Davis compiled a 44-14-3 record in goal for the Gorloks and recorded an 81.1 career save percentage.
Defenders
Elena Bloma (St. Louis, Mo. – 2014-17)
During the decade, Bloma was a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning two First-Team selections in 2016 and 2017. In addition, she was the first player in league history to earn SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors two times as she received the accolade in 2016 and 2017. Bloma was an anchor of a Webster defensive unit that allowed a total of 83 goals in 82 matches over four years and also posted 27 shutouts. She was also a four-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, earned an NSCAA Third-Team All-Central Region honoree in 2016 and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2015 and 2017. She also earned the Webster Athletics Student-Athlete of the Year in 2017.
Lilly Brauer (Belleville, Ill. – 2016-19)
In her four years with the Gorloks, Brauer was a three-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning First-Team All-SLIAC honors in 2018 and 2019 and also earning SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2018 and 2019. Additionally, she was a two-time NSCAA All-Region selection as she earned second team honors in 2018 and third team accolades in 2019 and was a three-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2016. Much like Bloma before her, Brauer anchored a Webster defense that allowed a total of 75 goals in 80 games and recorded 40 shutouts, including allowing 29 goals and 24 shutouts over the last two years.
Ashley Mess (St. Louis, Mo. – 2012-15)
Another strong defensive player on the All-Decade Team for the 2010s is Mess, who was a four-time All-SLIAC selection and earned first team honors in 2013 and 2015. Along with earning All-SLIAC honors four times, she was also a First-Team NSCAA All-Region selection and was named the SLIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. In 2015, Mess helped anchor a Webster defensive unit that allowed 21 goals and posted six shutouts in 19 matches, including allowing just six goals in SLIAC play. Mess was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team as a freshman in 2012 and was a SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week in 2015. She became the first player in SLIAC history to be named to the NSCAA Academic All-American team in 2015.
Carolyn Ries (St. Louis, Mo. – 2015-18)
In her four years as a Gorlok, Ries was a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in both 2017 and 2018. Along with earning All-SLIAC honors four times, Ries was also a Third-Team NSCAA All-Region honoree in 2018 and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in both 2015 and 2018. During her career, she scored 15 career goals, added 13 career assists and totaled 43 points. She took a total of 126 shots, including 60 shots on goal and tallied five career game winning goals, including two as a senior in 2018. Her 77 career games played are tied for 11th on the school's all-time list, while her 60 career shots on goal are 15th on the school's all-time list.
Amy Schield (Belleville, Ill. – 2011-14)
During the decade, Schield was another of the nine four-time All-SLIAC selections, including earning first team accolades in 2012 and 2014. Along with being a four-time All-SLIAC honoree, Schield was a Second-Team NSCAA All-Region selection and earned the SLIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. Additonally, she was a two-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2011. She played in 76 games and made 69 starts in her Gorlok career and scored five goals and had 11 assists and tallied two game winning goals. On defense, she helped a Webster defense that allowed a total of 62 goals and posted 47 shutouts from 2011-14.
Izzy Sherfy (St. Louis, Mo. – 2008-11)
Sherfy, who spanned two decades, played 37 of her 67 career matches during the 2010s, including playing in and starting 19 games as a junior in 2010. In the decade, she was a two-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in 2010. Helped lead a Gorlok defensive unit that allowed a total of 71 goals and record 45 shutouts from 2008-11, including allowing 34 goals and posting 19 shutouts combined in 2010 and 2011. She was also a two-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week in the decade.
Sydney Tedesco (Belleville, Ill. – 2014-17)
Tedesco is one of eight players from the 2017 team that was named to the All-Decade Team as she played in 81 games and made 60 starts, including playing in and starting all 42 matches from 2016 to 2017. In her time with the Gorloks, she was named a two-time All-SLIAC performer and was a Defensive Player of the Week as a senior in 2017. In her time at Webster, she was a part of a Gorlok defensive unit that allowed a total of 83 goals in 81 matches and recorded 33 shutouts.
Midfielders
Lindsey Adshade (Chicago, Ill. – 2013-14)
In her two years at Webster, Adshade was a two-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning First-Team honors as a senior in 2014. In addition to the two All-SLIAC honors, she was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2014 and earned a SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolade in 2013. Over her two seasons as a Gorlok, Adshade scored three goals and had 24 assists for a total of 30 points. Her 24 career assists are 15th on the school's all-time list, while her 0.55 assists per game is sixth on the school's career chart. Along with the three goals and 24 assists, she took 48 shots and had 20 shots on goal. Her 22 games played in both 2013 and 2014 are tied for single season school records, while her 13 assists in 2014 is tied for 11th on the school's single season chart.
Katie Aubuchon (St. Louis, Mo. – 2010-14)
In her four years at Webster, she was named a two-time All-SLIAC selection as she earned second team honors in both 2010 and 2011. She played in 57 matches and made 48 starts in her career and in those 57 matches, she tallied 12 goals and had 14 assists for a total of 38 points. In addition, she took 94 shots and put 43 of those shots on goal and scored two game winning goals.
Jodi Kaiping (Waterloo, Ill. – 2013-16)
Another four year player for the Gorloks, Kaiping played from 2013-16 for the Gorloks and in her time at Webster, she earned All-SLIAC honors in 2015 and 2016. In her time as a Gorlok, she played in 72 career games and made 45 starts, including playing in and starting all 40 games combined in 2015-16. The 21 starts in 2016 is tied for 19th on the school's single season chart. In her 72 career games, she scored five goals and had five assists for a total of 15 points. She recorded 58 career shots and had 29 career shots on goal.
Morgan Milfeld (Desoto, Mo. – 2008-11)
Milfeld is another Gorlok whose career spanned two decades as she played at Webster from 2008-11. In her time at Webster, she was a First-Team All-SLIAC honoree in 2011 and also was a two-time SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2011. She played in 76 career matches and made 74 starts, including playing in and starting a combined 38 matches in 2010 and 2011. In those 76 career matches, she tallied 18 goals and had 13 assists for a total of 49 assists. She took 94 career shots and had 50 career shots on goal and tallied four game winning goals, all of which came in 2011. Her four game winning goals in 2011 are tied for 13th on the school's single season chart and her 74 career starts are tied for 17th on the school's all-time chart.
Ally Nikolaus (St. Louis, Mo. – 2011-13)
In her three years as a Gorlok, Nikolaus was a three-time First-Team All-SLIAC selection and was named the SLIAC Player of the Year as a senior in 2013. Along with being a three-time All-SLIAC selection and the SLIAC Player of the Year, she was also a two-time Third-Team NSCAA All-Region selection in 2011 and 2012 and was a two-time member of the SLIAC All-Tournament Team, including earning Tournament MVP honors in 2012. In addition, she was a two-time SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. Nikolaus played in 59 matches and made 57 career starts and in those 59 matches, she scored 28 goals and recorded 19 assists for a total of 75 points. In addition, she took 160 shots and had 79 shots on goal and had 10 game winning goals, which is tied for eighth on the school's all-time chart. Her 79 shots on goal are eighth all-time in school history, while her 75 points and 28 goals are 12th all-time in program history.
Lauren Nuelle (St. Louis, Mo. – 2013-15, '17)
During the decade, Nuelle played in 65 matches and made 55 starts as she played three full seasons (2013, 2014 and 2017) and played in just one match in 2015 before suffering a season ending injury. In her time as a Gorlok, she was a three-time All-SLIAC selection and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2017. Additionally, she earned a SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolade in 2017. During her career, she scored 11 goals and had 10 assists for a total of 32 points. She also took 91 shots and put 36 of those 91 shots on goal and tallied four game winning goals with two of them coming in 2017. Her 22 games played in 2013 is tied for first on the school's single season chart, while her 21 starts in 2017 are tied for 19th on the single season chart.
Olivia Osterhage (Eureka, Mo. – 2016-19)
Osterhage played the final four years of the decade for the Gorloks and was a two-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in 2019. Along with earning All-SLIAC honors twice, she was selected to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2016 and was a Third-Team United Soccer Coaches All-Region honoree in 2019. In her career, she played in 83 matches and made 65 starts, including starting in and playing all 62 matches the past three seasons. She scored 14 goals and had 35 assists for a total of 63 points. Her 35 career assists are fifth on the school's all-time list, while her 83 games played is tied for sixth on the all-time list. In addition, her 17 assists in 2018 are tied for third on single season chart, while her 132 career shots are 18th on the career chart.
Brianna Pagan (St. Louis, Mo. – 2014-17)
In her four years as a Gorlok, Pagan was another of the nine All-Decade players to be named a four-time All-SLIAC selection and is the only player on the Decade Team to earn first team honors four times in the decade. Along with being a four-time All-SLIAC selection, Pagan was also a three-time Third-Team USC All-Region selection and was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection in 2017. In addition, she was named the SLIAC Tournament MVP in 2016. As a Gorlok, Pagan played in 81 matches and made 77 starts and recorded 22 goals, 17 assists and totaled 61 points. In those 81 career games, Pagan took 178 shots and had 86 shots on goal and tallied eight game winning goals. She ranks seventh on the all-time chart in shots on goal (86), nine in shots attempted (178), tied for 10th in shots on goal (8) and tied for 11th in games started (11).
Whitney Scott (Independence, Ky. – 2011-14)
Scott played all four years in decade and in those four years, she was two-time All-SLIAC selection and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2012 and 2014. She played in 83 matches and made 80 starts as a Gorlok and in those 83 matches, Scott scored seven goals and had 10 assists for a total of 24 points. In addition to the seven goals, 10 assists and 24 points, she took 75 shots and put 39 of those shots on goal. Her 80 games started are tied for third on the school's all-time list, while the 83 games played are tied for sixth on the all-time list.
Forwards
Christy Capkovic (St. Louis, Mo. – 2007-10)
Perhaps one of the best players in the program's history, Capkovic played just one year in the decade as she was a senior in 2010. In her time at Webster, Capkovic, who was inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Webster Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017, was a four-time First-Team All-SLIAC selection, including capping her career with her final first team honor as a senior in 2010. Along with her First-Team All-SLIAC honor in 2010, Capkovic also was named a Second-Team NSCAA All-Region selection and was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team and a two-time SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. In addition to her honors on the soccer field, Capkovic was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and is one of five Gorlok student-athletes in school history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors as she was Third-Team Academic All-American in Division III women's soccer in 2010. In her playing career, she scored a school record 88 goals and added 47 assists for a total of 223 points. She ranks in the Top 25 all-time in NCAA Division III women's soccer history for career goals scored and in 2009, she led the country in goals and points per game as she finished the season with 33 goals and 78 points. Along with holding school career marks for points and goals, she also holds school career marks for goals per game (1.10), shots attempted (424), shots per game (5.30), shots on goal (216) and is tied for first in game winning goals with 16.
Allison Ferguson (Highland, Ill. – 2013-16)
Ferguson played four years in the middle of the decade as she lettered for the Gorloks from 2013-16 and her time at Webster, she earned First-Team All-SLIAC honors in 2016, along with being named the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Along with earning All-SLIAC honors and the league's Offensive Player of the Year accolade, she also earned the Webster Athletics Student-Athlete of the Year in 2016 and earned SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors one time each in her career. Saw action in 67 games and made 24 starts, including playing in and starting all 21 matches as a senior in 2016. In her time with the Gorloks, she scored 23 goals and had 10 assists for a total of 56 points. The 23 goals are tied for 17th on the school's all-time chart. Ferguson also had 105 shots and 54 shots on goal, which is 17th on the school's all-time list.
Melissa Kasper (Oswego, Ill. – 2016-19)
While Capkovic opened the decade as the best player in school history, Kasper closed out the 2010s decade as perhaps a player to rival Capkovic in accomplishments and accolades. In her four years as a Gorlok, which spanned the final four years of the decade, Kasper was a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Along with being a four-time All-SLIAC honoree, Kasper was named the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019 and was a two-time Second-Team USC All-Region selection. In addition, she was the SLIAC Tournament MVP as a sophomore in 2017 and a two-time selection to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team and was a five-time SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, including earning the honor three times in 2019. As a Gorlok, Kasper played in 83 matches and made 64 starts, including playing and starting all 62 matches over the past three seasons. She scored 48 goals, recorded 54 assists and totaled 150 career points and is the school's all-time leader in assists and is second in career shots on goal (143), fourth in career points (150) and sixth in goals scored (48). Her 19 assists in 2018 is a single season school record. Kasper closed out her collegiate career as one of six active players in 2019 in Division III to score 45 goals, record 20 assists and compile 150 points.
Kristin Montgomery (St. Louis, Mo. – 2011-14)
Another four year letterwinner in the decade for the Gorloks was Montgomery as she lettered at Webster from 2011-14. In her time with the Gorloks, she was named a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in 2013. Along with being named a four-time All-SLIAC honoree, Montgomery earned the SLIAC Tournament MVP honor in 2014 and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2013 was a three-time SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. In her time at Webster, she played in 82 matches and made 75 starts and she scored 42 goals and had 22 assists for a total of 106 points. Her 42 goals are seventh on the school's all-time chart, while the 106 career points are eighth all-time in program history. In addition, she scored 12 career game winning goals, which are sixth all-time in school history and her 98 shots on goal are fourth best in school history.
Megan Niederschulte (St. Louis, Mo. - 2007-10)
Niederschulte is another Gorlok that played just one season in the decade (2010) as she was a four-year letterwinner at Webster from 2007-10. In her time at Webster, she was a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including capping her collegiate career with a first team honor in 2010. Along with earning First-Team All-SLIAC honors in 2010, she was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2010 and was an Offensive Player of the Week that same year. She played in 81 matches and made 78 starts in her Webster career, including playing in and starting all 20 matches in 2010. In 2010, she scored 14 goals and had 12 assists for a total of 40 points and in her playing career, she tallied 58 goals, 41 assists and 157 points. The 157 points is second all-time in school history, while the 58 goals is tied for second most in program history and her 15 career game winning goals are third in school history. Additionally, her 41 career assists are third in program history and she ranks in the Top 8 in seven other career offensive categories. She was inducted into the Webster Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.
Lauren Pratt (St. Louis, Mo. – 2012-15)
The final member of the All-Decade Team is Pratt, who played for the Gorloks from 2012-15. In her four years as a Gorlok, Pratt was a four-time All-SLIAC selection, including earning first team honors in both 2014 and 2015. Along with her four All-SLIAC accolades, she also was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team in 2014 and was named the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2012. She played in 75 matches and made 67 starts in her career and she tallied 32 goals, 32 assists and 96 points as a Gorlok. Stands sixth on the school's all-time chart for shots on goal (88), tied for sixth in career assists (32), 10th in career points (96) and tied for 10th in both goals scored (32) and game winning goals (8). She finished her career with 165 shots and that is 12th on the school's all-time chart.
