WU’s Mia Smith Named SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the names of the student-athletes who were selected as Player of the Week in the sport of women's soccer. WU's Mia Smith was named the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 14-20.

Last week, the Gorloks continued the heart of their conference season with two matches; a visit to Blackburn College while hosting Lyon College. 

In the match against Blackburn, Smith recorded her second multi-goal performance of the season by scoring two goals on three shots while adding one assist. 

In the decision against Lyon, Smith followed up with another multi-goal performance as she scored two goals on five shots while adding one assist.    

For the week, first-year Smith scored four goals and recorded two assists for 10 points.

This season, Smith has scored a total of six goals and has earned four assists for 16 points.
