Scire Captures 375th Career Win As Head Women’s Soccer Coach At Webster

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Luigi Scire, the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Webster University, has captured the historic career milestone of 375 victories as a Head Coach. Scire, who is the all-time winningest coach in the women's soccer record books, secured this historic achievement with a dominant 7-1 victory over Principia College on Saturday, September 28 in Elsah, Illinois. 

Scire now ranks eighth on the all-time active NCAA Division III Women's Soccer coaching records books (Min. of five years as a Division III head coach; includes all victories as coach at a four-year institution) with an overall record of 375-115-22 (.753) while compiling a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SLIAC) record of 221-23-5 (.905). 

In addition, Scire holds the 13th highest all-time winning percentage (.753) among NCAA Division III coaches and the 25th highest women's all-time winning percentage among all divisions. 

During his 26-year head coaching tenure at Webster, Scire has produced 24 consecutive winning seasons that led to 16 SLIAC Championship titles, 14 NCAA Division III tournament appearances, and named SLIAC Coach of the Year eight times with most recently named following the 2023 season.

As the leader of the program, Scire has produced 194 All-Conference selections that includes 97 First Team selections, 16 SLIAC Players of the Year, 12 SLIAC Newcomers of the Year, and 11 SLIAC Tournament Most Valuable Players. 

In addition, three players have been recognized as NCAA Division III National Statistical Champions for goals, points per game, and goals against average and the program. Additionally, Scire has coached 12 Webster Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees and four SLIAC Hall of Fame selections.

For 25 consecutive years, Scire's teams have won the prestigious United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Academic Award by maintaining a 3.3 or higher grade-point-average duration the academic year.  Following the 2018 season, the team was honored with the inaugural USC Team Pinnacle Award. The Team Pinnacle Award was created by the USC to recognize teams for achieving a high level of fair play, educational excellence and success on the soccer field. Additionally, the team received the Ethics Award from the USC for the 13th time in 2022-23.
