Dana Vahey graduated cum laude from Webster in 2009 with a BA in Mathematics and in Secondary Education.  An all-around athlete, Vahey played four years for the Webster softball and soccer teams, and two years of basketball.  A catcher in softball, Vahey was a NFCA Scholar Athlete All-American in 2009 as the Gorloks advanced to the NCAA III Sweet Sixteen, earning All-Midwest Region honors as well.  Vahey was the 2009 SLIAC Softball Player of the Year, SLIAC Tournament MVP, and a SLIAC All-Conference First Team selection as well.  She was also named Webster's Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2009.  In her four seasons, the Webster softball team won three SLIAC Championships and advanced to the NCAA III Tournament twice.  Vahey still holds Webster career softball records for at-bats, runs scored, hits, total bases, and walks, and is second in home runs.  A midfielder in soccer, Vahey played on SLIAC Championship teams three years, advancing to the NCAA III Tournament three times.  Vahey played four sports at Hazelwood West in St. Louis, running cross country also, and was West's 2005 Scholar Athlete.  After teaching and coaching high school, Vahey chose a career in the U.S. Air Force.  She is currently in Emergency Management through Andrews AFB in Maryland but deployed overseas.  She's had a distinguished career, being named the Andrews AFB Airman of the Year in 2012 and an Airman Leader.  She was a USAF Basic Military Training Honor Graduate, Flight 036 Top PT Airman, and received the Thunderbolt Fitness Excellence Award.
