Jeanne Zes Gilbert, who graduated with a BA Early Childhood Education 2000 and a MAT 2005). Jeanne was a three-year softball and basketball player for the Gorloks, from 1997-2000. While Gilbert was a significant contributor to the basketball squad at forward, averaging eight and seven points per game her last two seasons, it was as a pitcher for the women’s softball team that she made her mark in Webster sports history.
Gilbert wound up near the top in almost every career pitching category as she helped lead the softball team to three straight SLIAC titles and three NCAA appearances from 1998-2000. In those three seasons, Webster compiled a 101-23 won/loss record and a 36-3 record in SLIAC play. Her senior season, Gilbert posted a 16-2 record and a 0.69 earned run average.
She has the third lowest career earned run average for Webster, 1.37, is second in wins with 48, second in shutouts with 13, third in strikeouts with 253, and first in winning percentage (.814). Gilbert was named to the SLIAC All-Conference First Team in 1998 and 2000, and to the Second Team in 1999.
An outstanding student as well, Gilbert was named to the Dean’s List two times at Webster as she compiled a 3.81 cumulative undergraduate GPA. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Teaching, graduating with honors and a 3.97 GPA.  Jeanne teaches kindergarten at Uthoff Valley Elementary in the Rockwood School District. She is married to Greg, and they have three children, Roman, Nika (Nee-ka), and four-month old Truman.
